The walkthrough, step by step
Decide your player up front
Only two really merit installing. IPTV Smarters Pro puts a picture on screen fastest; TiViMate wins on its programme grid, which you will thank yourself for the next time you go looking for the Saturday hockey slot. Same install path, same login for both — the only thing this choice changes is one address you paste in a couple of steps down.
Unlock sideloading on the stick
Out of the box Fire OS blocks anything not from Amazon. Open Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options and switch on Apps from Unknown Sources. On the latest sticks that toggle stays hidden until an app requests it, so if you cannot find it, carry on — it surfaces as Install unknown apps beside Downloader right when it is needed.
Add the Downloader app
From the home screen, run a search for Downloader and grab the orange AFTVnews tile. Start it once and grant the storage permission it requests; skip that and the file you pull next fails silently, with no clue as to why.
Pull down the player
In Downloader, select the address bar and type the short link we message you, or the official Smarters APK URL. Press Go, and as soon as the download lands the installer launches by itself — choose Install, then Done, then Delete to reclaim the space.
Feed in your Xtream login
Fire TV tucks the freshly installed app into Your Apps and Channels, not the front row — that is where it goes missing for most people. Open it, accept the terms, pick Login with Xtream Codes API, give the profile any name, and enter the username, password and server URL exactly as issued, http:// prefix, port and all.
Stress-test before you settle in
Head into Live TV, throw on something heavy — Sportsnet mid-game is the fair trial — and watch it for a minute. Hold select to bank favourites; three dozen makes the list workable. If anything hitches, flip decoding to hardware under Settings > Player settings, and you are done.
If it acts up
Downloader will not pull the file
The address is nearly always the culprit — retype it slowly or ask us for the mirror. If it is definitely correct, confirm Unknown Sources is on for Downloader specifically; newer Fire OS keeps a per-app switch that is separate from the master one.
Invalid credentials on sign-in
Start with the server line. It expects http:// at the front and the port at the back — http://server:8080 — and a pasted value happily hides a trailing space. Key it in by hand once before you blame the account itself.
The 4K stream stutters at prime time
This is your Wi-Fi far more often than our service. A stick parked well away from the router, or a home network jammed at the busy hour, starves the 4K feed before anything else. Bring the router nearer, or better yet run an Ethernet adapter into the Fire TV — a wired link kills the buffering outright.

Will it run on the Fire TV Stick Lite?
It will, following these same steps, since the Lite is the same Fire OS underneath. It tops out at 1080p, mind, so any 4K feed is wasted on it. On the main set the 4K Max is worth the extra $20 or so.
Does one login stretch to the stick and my phone?
Install it on both, and on everything else in the house too. The plan caps how many streams run at once, not how many copies are installed, so on a single-screen line both can stay logged in while one plays. Step up to two screens to lift that.
